About us:
Vita & District Handivan Service is non-profit organization that provides a flexible and supportive transportation service. This service shall be provided in a safe, reliable, courteous and helpful manner which promotes each clients dignity, integrity and independence.
Handivan Rates: All fares are subject to change without notice
Minivan
- Damage deposit required (Residents $50.00 Nonresidents $250.00)
- Own Driver used, upon proof of eligibility
- Capacity: 3 seats and 1 wheelchair.
Within town of Vita Limits:
- $5.00/person
- $0.50/km after 10km if within the town
Outside of the town of Vita Limits:
- $5.00/person plus $0.50/km
Approved Volunteer Driver from Roster Used:
- Damage deposit not required
- $15.00/hr plus $0.50/km
Large Handivan
- Approved Drive from roster only
- $15.00/hour plus $0.50/km
Capacity Options:
- 14 seats and 1 wheelchair OR
- 8 seats and 2 wheelchairs OR
- 6 seats and 4 wheelchairs
Want to Book a ride?
Clients are required to book transportation at least 24 hours in advance.
The Large Handivan and the Minivan are both not to be used as an ambulance.
