Burning Permits
To help protect our communities, residents, property, and natural areas, the R.M. of Stuartburn requires burning permits for all open-air burning conducted between April 1 and November 30.
As outlined in 179-2021 Burning By-law , burning permits are available free of charge and must be obtained in person at the R.M. office:

Burning Permit Requirements
All individuals conducting open-air burning within the R.M. of Stuartburn are required to obtain a burning permit from the municipality.
Important Information
- Permits are issued at no cost
- Permits must be obtained before any burning takes place
- Permits are required annually between April 1 and November 30
- Burning without a valid permit may result in penalties or enforcement action
Burn Bans
Please note that Council has the authority to implement a burn ban at any time when conditions become hazardous.

If a burn ban is declared, all previously issued burning permits become immediately void.
Residents are encouraged to regularly check for burn ban notices before conducting any burning activities. Wooded District Area Map

Residents burning within the Wooded District, identified on the map below, are required to obtain:
- A burning permit from the R.M. of Stuartburn
- A burning permit from the Province of Manitoba
