The RM of Stuartburn Transfer Station provides residents with a safe and convenient location for waste disposal and recycling services. The facility is operated in accordance with municipal by-laws to ensure environmentally responsible waste management for the community.

Hours of Operation
The Transfer Station is open to the public six days per week and is closed on Sundays and statutory holidays. 
  • Monday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m
  • Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m
  • Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m
  • Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m
  • Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m
  • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m
  • Sunday: Closed

All users are required to pay the attendant on site in accordance with By-Law No. 191-2023.
 
Important Information
  • Ash disposal is not permitted at the Transfer Station without prior approval from the attendant. Special arrangements must be made in advance.
  • The Vita Transfer Station accepts loose recyclables. If recyclables are bagged, they must be placed in blue or clear bags only to ensure proper sorting and processing.

General Recycling Guidelines
To ensure materials are accepted and processed correctly, please follow these general guidelines:
  • All recyclables must be clean, dry, and free of food residue
  • Contamination may result in materials being rejected
  • Do not place recyclables inside garbage bags unless using approved blue or clear bags
  • Follow all instructions provided at the Transfer Station site
Accepted Materials (General)
While accepted materials may vary, common recyclable items include:
  • Clean paper and cardboard
  • Flattened cardboard boxes
  • Plastic containers (where accepted by facility guidelines)
  • Tin and aluminum cans
  • Glass containers (if accepted at time of drop-off)
For specific acceptance rules, residents are encouraged to refer to on-site signage or contact the Transfer Station directly.

Bagging Requirements
If recyclables are bagged, they must be placed in:
  • Blue recycling bags, or
  • Clear plastic bags
This allows attendants to properly identify and sort materials upon arrival.

Contamination and Non-Recyclables
The following items are typically not accepted in recycling streams:
  • Food waste or organic material
  • Hazardous materials
  • Electronics (unless designated e-waste collection is available)
  • Construction or demolition debris
  • Styrofoam or mixed-material packaging (unless otherwise specified)
Improperly sorted materials may be refused or redirected for disposal.

60131, PR 201 Menisino

Open Tuesdays and Saturdays
Summer hours are 10 AM – 6 PM (March – November)

Winter hours are 9 AM – 5 PM (November – March)

Please ensure if you are a resident of the RM of Stuartburn you are using the bins with the RM of Stuartburn labels.
